SRS Medical Introduces System for Complete Urodynamics(TM)

Features the First Non-Invasive Test for Bladder Outlet Obstruction

REDMOND, Wash.--(Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network)-- SRS Medical today announced the launch of the CT3000Plus Complete Urodynamics™ system as part of the AUA2011 New Product Showcase at the American Urological Association’s Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. May 14th-19th.

The CT3000Plus is the most comprehensive system to date for the diagnosis of voiding disorders. It features the UroCuff™ Test, the only non-invasive test for male voiding pressure, as well as catheter-based urodynamics with the only electronic leak-point detector, 2-channel EMG and wireless uroflow scales. Inexpensive options include ultrasound for abdominal imaging and high-accuracy bladder volume measurement, and EMG biofeedback for Pelvic Muscle Rehabilitation.

The patented UroCuff™ Test measures bladder pressure with a penile cuff (like a blood pressure cuff) instead of a catheter and is backed by extensive clinical documentation. To learn more about the UroCuff Test please visit www.urocufftest.com.

“The CT3000Plus is a uniquely capable urodiagnostic workstation and the UroCuff Test meets a longstanding need for accurate, non-invasive assessment,” says Kevin Connolly, CEO of SRS Medical. “Many men who have been reluctant to undergo the catheterization necessary for conventional urodynamics can now be tested quickly and comfortably. We are proud to be part of such a significant advance in diagnostic technology.”

Clinical Background

Poor urine flow in older men is often assumed to be result of bladder outlet obstruction (BOO) related to enlarged prostate, but it can also be the result of low bladder contractility. History, symptom assessment and flow rate are not sufficient to determine which is the cause. (The clinical literature indicates that some 30% of patients undergoing prostate surgery fail to get symptomatic relief.) Bladder pressure measurement is also needed for definitive diagnosis, but many men are reluctant to undergo the catheterization that has been necessary. The UroCuff™ Test is the first non-invasive test for male voiding pressure.

SRS Medical is a leading manufacturer of devices for the diagnosis of voiding disorders and for conservative treatments of urinary incontinence. It is a privately held corporation with facilities in Redmond WA and Billerica MA. To learn more about SRS Medical and its products, please visit http://www.srsmedical.com.
