Toshiba’s Infinix-i Cardiovascular Dual Plane X-Ray System Enhances Productivity for High-Volume Medical CenterNorth Mississippi Medical Center Installs Toshiba’s Infinix DP-i for More Precise Whole-Body Imaging on a Single System
TUSTIN, Calif.--(Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network)-- In high-volume cath labs, the ability to conduct both cardiac and peripheral procedures with one system allows clinicians to treat a variety of patients and improves efficiency. North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Miss., which performs more than 5,000 diagnostic cardiac catheterizations annually, acquired Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc.’s Infinix™ DP-i X-ray system for the flexibility of its dual panels, enabling clinicians to deliver faster exams and provide more patient-focused care.
“Toshiba’s Infinix DP-i is one system that works like two, and has allowed us to use our Toshiba room for both cardiac and peripheral procedures with improvements in visualization and enhanced patient safety as compared to our other ‘all-in-one’ labs,” said Dr. Barry Bertolet, medical director of Interventional Cardiology, North Mississippi Medical Center. “The system is also extremely reliable without a single down day since installation.”
The Infinix DP-i is a single-room X-ray solution for cardiac and general angiography. The dual C-arm configuration features an 8" x 8" flat panel detector for cardiac applications and a 12" x 16" flat panel detector for peripheral applications, allowing physicians to use a dedicated detector for the exam being performed.
“The Infinix DP-i offers healthcare facilities two independent C-arms in one system, so clinicians have the correct detector size regardless of procedure type,” said Stephen Bumb, director, X-ray Vascular Business Unit, Toshiba. “North Mississippi Medical Center’s successful use of the system is a perfect example of the system’s ability to improve patient care and safety in the cath lab.”
