Mid Atlantic Spine and Pain Physicians Perform Region’s First Procedure Using New Device from St. Jude Medical
ELKTON, Md.--(Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network)-- Mid Atlantic Spine and Pain Physicians (MASPP), the most comprehensive pain practice in the U.S. diagnosing and treating spine and pain related disorders, announced today that Dr. Frank J.E. Falco, M.D. performed the region’s first procedure using the new Epiducer™ lead delivery system. Dr. Falco has also been selected by St. Jude Medical to train other physicians nationwide to use this device.The purpose of the Epiducer lead delivery system is to offer a less invasive option for introducing multiple leads and/or S-Series™ paddle leads. Rather than requiring a needle stick for each percutaneous lead or requiring a laminotomy for S-Series paddle leads, the Epiducer system enables physicians to gradually dilate the ligamentum flavum through a percutaneous approach, allowing unprecedented access to the epidural space.

The Epiducer lead delivery system is a 510(k) cleared device that enables the introduction of multiple percutaneous spinal cord stimulation (SCS) leads as well as a unique class of steerable SCS paddle leads through a single percutaneous entry point.
Dr. Falco was recently involved in the first training session on the East Coast to 40 pain physicians and neurosurgeons. He will continue to provide training to other surgeons and pain physicians on the Epiducer device and how it is used for the implementation of leads and paddles.
