Nihon Kohden America Earns Physiological Monitoring Contract from Premier healthcare alliance
Nihon Kohden can help hospitals within the alliance meet clinical quality as well as financial objectivesFOOTHILL RANCH, Calif.--(Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network)--Nihon Kohden America, a market leader in patient monitoring innovation, is among three elite patient monitoring companies to win a three-year physiological monitoring group purchasing contract with the Premier healthcare alliance. Premier is a performance-improvement alliance of more than 2,500 U.S. hospitals and 81,000 other healthcare sites using collaboration to lead the transformation to high-quality, cost-effective care. The contract will commence on March 1, 2012.
“We thank Premier for recognizing Nihon Kohden’s unique value proposition and leadership in monitoring innovation,” said Mike Dashefsky, vice president, Nihon Kohden America. “For Nihon Kohden to be one of only three vendors awarded a national group purchasing organization (GPO) monitoring contract speaks to the integrity and relevance of our enterprise monitoring solutions, such as the Prefense™ Early Detection and Notification System™. We embrace this opportunity to increase adoption of our solutions among Premier members and give hospitals, health systems and other providers the ability to improve healthcare quality while controlling costs.”
In addition to Nihon Kohden, Premier awarded the physiological monitoring contract to GE and Philips. Previously, Nihon Kohden was one among five vendors. Premier narrowed the field during this proposal process. As one of the largest GPOs in the country, Premier alliance members select the most promising technologies and most credible vendors that present a balanced solution between improving the quality of patient care while reducing escalating costs within the healthcare system today.
Nihon Kohden’s suite of enterprise monitoring solutions enables hospitals to focus on quality while avoiding the costs associated with adverse events. Defensive Monitoring yields an improvement in quality of care while protecting a hospital’s bottom line. The Prefense Early Detection & Notification System closes the gap between the time when the patient’s condition starts to deteriorate and a clinician is alerted, enabling quicker interventions at the point of care.
