CLEVELAND, March 20, 2012 -- (Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network) -- ViewRay™ Incorporated, a privately held medical device company, today announced the addition of Michael Brandt as senior vice president of sales. A veteran of the radiation therapy and medical imaging industries, Brandt will lay the groundwork for ViewRay's worldwide sales and marketing programs as the company prepares for the commercialization of its MRI-guided radiotherapy system. ViewRay's treatment planning and delivery software received 510(k) premarket notification clearance from the U.S. FDA in 2011, and its integrated imaging and radiotherapy delivery system is now pending 510(k) review. The ViewRay system is currently available only as a non-human use research system.

"Michael's extensive experience in the radiotherapy and imaging industry makes him a tremendous addition to ViewRay as we prepare for the next stage of the company's development," said ViewRay President and CEO Gregory M. Brandt has also held a variety of international management positions at Philips Medical Systems. At ViewRay, he will oversee the company's business development initiatives and, ultimately, its sales and marketing efforts.

ViewRay holds the exclusive worldwide license for its patented combination of MRI and radiation therapy technologies. Research partners include the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Health System, the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, and the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine, where the first ViewRay research system is currently being installed.
