Market-Leading Ultrasound System Provides Clinicians Faster, Easier Way to Maximize PerformancePEABODY, Mass., Nov. 21, 2012 -- (Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network) -- Analogic Corporation (ALOG), enabling the world's medical imaging and aviation security technology, announced today that it will demonstrate its BK Medical branded Flex Focus(TM) 500 ultrasound system, with new Quantum(TM) Technology, at the 98th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), Nov. 25--30, 2012.
The Flex Focus 500, an industry-leading imaging solution for interventional radiology, will be complemented by the company's suite of ultrasound systems including the Flex Focus 800 and Pro Focus(TM) UltraView 800. Analogic's BK Medical systems with Quantum Technology offer important new features and solutions that provide clinicians a faster and easier way to maximize ultrasound performance.
Analogic's Quantum Technology offers image quality advancements including superb contrast resolution, as well as new grayscale maps and new image pre-sets, making it easier and quicker to obtain the highest quality images. In addition, the new technology includes a unique Vector Flow Imaging (VFI) mode*, allowing angle independent visualization of blood flow, and an advanced color Doppler mode, enabling excellent spatial resolution. Key benefits also include advanced harmonic imaging when imaging all patient types, even the extremely difficult-to-image patient.
"Our innovative ultrasound systems with Quantum Technology exemplify Analogic's ongoing dedication to develop leading-edge solutions that provide physicians a quicker and easier way to maximize ultrasound performance for interventional radiology," said Lars Shaw, vice president of global marketing at Analogic. "The excellent 2D imaging and sensitive color Doppler offers quick, precise visualization of superficial or deep structures in all types of patients including difficult-to-image patients.
"In addition, the vector flow imaging mode allows for angle independent visualization of blood flow, leading to a quicker, more thorough patient assessment," continued Shaw.
Analogic's suite of ultrasound systems complement BK Medical's extensive product portfolio. The Flex Focus 500 is a portable, highly efficient system that is powerful and well suited for a busy practice utilizing ultrasound for interventional ultrasound needs. The Flex Focus 800 and UltraView 800 are the company's premium performance systems.
The procedure-driven Flex Focus 500 ultrasound system supports a broad range of innovative transducers to address the challenges of demanding interventional procedures. The broad transducer portfolio, including the four-way articulating laparoscopic transducer, makes the system one of the most versatile on the market today. In addition, this small footprint ultrasound system is extremely maneuverable and offers up to four hours of plug-free imaging.
