Millar, Inc. Appointed Exclusive US Distributor of CD Leycom INCA(R) Pressure-Volume (PV) Loop System

HOUSTON, TX--(Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network) - Millar, Inc. (Houston, TX, USA) and CD Leycom (Zoetermeer, The Netherlands) today announce the appointment of Millar, Inc. as the exclusive U.S. distributor of CD Leycom's clinical INCAŽ pressure-volume (PV) loop system and disposable clinical PV loop catheters.

The INCA intracardiac analyzer is the world's only clinically approved device for monitoring the ventricular pressure volume relationship, cardiac contractile state and intra-ventricular dyssynchrony in real time using a single pressure volume catheter. The INCA delivers greater insight into a patient's cardiac function and has direct application in Heart Failure detection and quantification as well as Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT), percutaneous Trans-Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) and Mitral Clipping procedures.

Founded by Prof. Jan Baan, CD Leycom is a pioneer in the development of conductance technology and introduced the first commercial PV loop systems for research and then clinical use in 1998. The company continues to sell and support its recently released INCA PV loop system and is actively involved in a number of innovative clinical trials investigating the impact of PV loop measurement in CRT, TAVR and MitraClip procedures.

"The joint effort by Millar and CD Leycom enables us to demonstrate the potential of the clinical PV technology to improve heart failure diagnosis and to fine-tune cardiac interventional therapies for a more efficient treatment and better patient outcome while reducing health care costs," according to Jan Schreuder, CSO, CD Leycom.

Millar, Inc. pioneered the development of catheter based solid-state pressure sensors and is known worldwide as the gold standard for physiologic pressure measurement. Today the company's pressure, PV loop and telemetry systems enable medical discovery in the life sciences while its Mikro-Cath disposable pressure catheter is used by cardiologists performing medical research and advanced cardiovascular diagnosis.

"By partnering to serve our mutual worldwide customers, Millar and CD Leycom can more effectively update clinicians regarding the unique benefits of using PV loop technology clinically, and provide the collaborative support clinicians want," said Tim Daugherty, Director of Sales & Marketing at Millar, Inc.

The two companies will be announcing the partnership to customers at the annual American Heart Association Exhibition in Dallas, TX November 17 - 19.
