Excelsior Medical Files Patent Infringement Suit Against Ivera Medical
NEPTUNE, N.J.--(Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network)--Excelsior Medical Corp. today announced that it has filed a lawsuit against Ivera Medical, Inc. for patent infringement arising under the patent laws of the United States of America, 35 U.S.C. § 1, et seq. The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, Case No. 3:14-cv-00852-NLH-AMD.The Excelsior suit claims that Ivera is manufacturing, marketing and selling throughout the United States a line of products, the Curos Strip and Curos Tips, that infringe upon U.S. Patent No. 8,647,326, entitled “Sterilization Caps and Systems and Associated Methods,” relating to a system of medical luer connector caps, which was duly and legally issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Excelsior holds an exclusive license to this patent under an agreement with Catheter Connections, Inc.
