Skyline Medical to Penetrate Important Northeast Region Through Exclusive Distribution Agreement with O.R. Specialties

Leading area distributor to sell Skyline's revolutionary STREAMWAY® Fluid Waste Management System to hospitals and surgery centers

MINNEAPOLIS, March 13, 2014 -- (Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network) -- To expand the reach of its FDA-approved STREAMWAY System for automated, direct-to-drain medical fluid disposal in the influential northeast region of the United States, Skyline Medical (SKLN) recently signed a distribution agreement with O.R. Specialties.

The Connecticut-based distributor supplies hospitals and surgery centers with cutting-edge surgical equipment, and has a strong presence in the northeast. Through the agreement, O.R. Specialties will sell the STREAMWAY System in New York City and Long Island, as well as Connecticut and Rhode Island.

"O.R. Specialties' strong relationships and dedicated sales team will provide us with the penetration we need in a very influential part of the country," said Josh Kornberg, CEO of Skyline Medical, formerly BioDrain Medical. "We feel they're the right fit to help us make the STREAMWAY System the new standard in medical waste fluid management in the northeast.

"Our mission at O.R. Specialties is to improve the quality of health care in our local markets through leading technologies," said President Bill Tobin. "Skyline's breakthrough waste fluid management system is a perfect fit with our portfolio of cutting-edge products. We're excited to be able to provide our customers with a better way of handling infectious fluid that's safer, more efficient, more cost-effective and more environmentally sound than the antiquated systems they've been using."

About Skyline Medical Inc.

Skyline Medical Inc. produces a fully automated, patented, FDA-cleared, waste fluid disposal system that virtually eliminates staff exposure to blood, irrigation fluid and other potentially infectious fluids found in the healthcare environment. Antiquated manual fluid handling methods — which require hand carrying and emptying filled-fluid canisters — present an exposure risk and potential liability. Skyline Medical's STREAMWAY System fully automates the collection, measurement and disposal of waste fluids and is designed to: 1) reduce overhead costs to hospitals and surgical centers, 2) improve compliance with Occupational State and Health Association (OSHA) and other regulatory agency safety guidelines, 3) improve efficiency in the operating room, and radiology and endoscopy departments — leading to greater profitability, and 4) provide greater environmental stewardship by helping to eliminate the approximately 50 million potentially disease-infected canisters that go into landfills annually in the United States.
