Kolltan Pharmaceuticals Obtains $60 Million in Series D Financing
Proceeds Will Advance Proprietary Biologic Product Candidates Targeting Receptor Tyrosine KinasesNEW HAVEN, Conn., March 26, 2014 -- (Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network) -- Kolltan Pharmaceuticals, a privately held biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of novel biologics targeting receptor tyrosine kinases, today announced the completion of a $60 million Series D financing. The financing was led by a new investor, a Boston-based global institutional asset manager, and by an existing investor, KLP Enterprises. Additional new investors participating in this transaction include Deerfield Management, Franklin Berger, and others. Existing investors in the financing include HBM Healthcare Investments Ltd., Purdue Pharma L.P., Osage University Partners, and others.
"With this strong financial support from both new and current investors, we are able to advance KTN3379 into the evaluation of specific populations of cancer patients where ErbB3 is believed to play an important role in disease pathogenesis," said Jerry McMahon, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Kolltan Pharmaceuticals.
