Cook Medical Successful in Obtaining Dismissal of Patent Infringement Case Filed by Acacia Subsidiary
BLOOMINGTON, Ind.--(Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network)--Tuesday afternoon, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana ruled in favor of Cook Medical Incorporated and dismissed a patent infringement lawsuit filed by Endotach LLC, a subsidiary of the patent assertion entity Acacia Research Corporation. The lawsuit stated the various Cook stent grafts sold under the Zenith® brand infringed on patents that were allegedly licensed exclusively to Endotach.Costs of litigation and threats of infringement allegations can hinder innovation and deny patients’ access to important new products.
