David Kaysen Named President & CEO of Sun BioPharma

Healthcare Executive Brings Extensive Clinical & Public Markets Experience to Sun's Management Team

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Healthcare Sales & Marketing Network) - Sun BioPharma, Inc., (OTC PINK: SNBP), a biopharmaceutical company developing therapies for the treatment of pancreatic cancer, today announced that David B. Kaysen, a veteran healthcare executive, has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer as well as a member of the Company's Board of Directors effective immediately. Mr. Kaysen brings to Sun BioPharma more than 25 years of healthcare clinical development, commercial and public company achievements. He joins the Company as its lead development candidate, SBP-101, is expected to begin a Phase 1 clinical trial for the treatment of pancreatic cancer by the end of this year.

Prior to joining Sun, Mr. Kaysen was an advisor and senior executive for several domestic and European growth-oriented privately-held healthcare companies. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of four privately held companies, three of which are in the health care space. From 2006 until 2013 Mr. Kaysen served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Uroplasty, a Twin Cities-based publicly traded global medical device company now part of Cogentix Medical, where he guided the company through successful clinical trials and grew annual sales to $22 million. Previously, Mr. Kaysen served as President and CEO of Advanced Duplications Services, LLC; President, Chief Executive Officer and a director of Diametrics Medical, Inc. and President, Chief Executive Officer and a director of Rehabilicare, Inc.
