Going From Biotech to Medical Device: What Advice?
Posted by: Jim (Host IP Logged)

I am considering an offer from a very small surgical device company that sells, repairs, and sterilizes surgical instruments & equipment. I will be leaving a very large pharma company in the process, as well as the "safety" and "stability" of the company and industry. Does anyone have any advice for someone like me?
Thanks!

How many years have you spent in Pharma? How old are you now? What are your income aspirations? Why do you want to leave your Pharma job?

In today's market safety and stability are good things. My company sells instruments and products for sterilization and disinfecting. We are a small company. Even though we have great products at a competitive or lower cost, it is hard to get buyers to change. Before you make a move find out who your competitors are, what is the market share, and so on. It is very hard to break relationships in that area.
