Americans spend $16.4 billion each year on incontinence, according to the AHRQ. The American Foundation for Urological Disease estimates that more than 4 million men experience incontinence from medical conditions including prostate cancer, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, and muscular dystrophy. Chronic incontinence is the leading cause of nursing home admissions, according to the Alliance for Aging Research.
