I just wanted to get some feedback from the "people" regarding Zimmer Trauma. Can anybody give me feedback as to where they rank in the trauma category? Working for Zimmer? Any feedback would be appreciated. Overall, I have heard good things but thought presenting my concerns on this board would be a good move.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Zimmer Trauma is really not a major player; at least not in the Northeast, Decent locked plates however Synthes, Stryker and other companies have the advantage relationship wise there. Zimmer is without a doubt a great marketing machine so if their focus shifts towards promoting some of their trauma products who knows what the outcome may be. From my perspective most of their products in regards to trauma are outdated and weak compared to today's market and advancements.

Zimmer is not a player in the NorthEast. Too many other companies have better products. My only concern with Zimmer is they are always last with innovative products. It seems for years, they have arrived at the dance too late. Hope this info serves you well.

Agree 100%. Zimmer definitely shows up to the dance late and a little sloppy.
With their business practices out in the open these days; who knows what may happen
with all the Zimmer friendly orthopods out there.
Trauma= No chance.
Recon: Depends where the doc did his/her fellowship. Although that relationship
can be taken with proven historical clinical success and a knowledgeable rep.

I REPRESENT ZIMMMER TRAUMA AND I HAVE SEEN THE 'GOOD,BAD AND UGLY" HONESTLY IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THE REPRESENTATIVE AND HOW THE SURGEONS VIEW HIS OR HER OPINION. I HAVE BEEN HAVING GREAT SUCCESS WITH ZIMMER THUS FAR. HOWEVER I DO AGREE THAT THEY DO SHOW UP TO THE DANCE LATE..ON ALOT OF THEIR PRODUCTS.
THE BOTTOM LINE IS ...TELL A GOOD STORY AND STAY TRUE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS NEEDS.

Zimmer is 2nd in the world! when looking at plates and Screws. Synthes is obviosly number 1. However , Zimmer is gaining ground every year. in ex- fix zimmer is 3rd and not a major player for rods right now....so plates and screws are where zimmer is making an impact..

I am a Zimmer Trauma Rep and even though we showed up late to the dance....we are wearing the prettiest dress! Zimmer is currently making the largest truama push in the history of the company and is coming out with the greatest poducts on the market. Sythes has the name and reputation of being the best but I truly believe that Zimmer trauma within the next few years will give them a run for their money! From the new natural nail to the peri lock plates with the "thick to thin" pattented technology, there is nothing that other companies have that we don't. The bottom line though is the rep. If they are good, than the business is theirs if they effectively build solid relationships with their surgeons and have good sales skills!

I represent Zimmer trauma currently and Im having great success. Zimmer has really developed nice products like the "ncb plating system".
They will continue to develop,as well as aquire new technologies. Synthes is feeling the pressure from not only us but the other major companies as well.
My point... Zimmer is a good place to be now, but if you end up with the other major cpmpanies stryker, smith nephew etc. they also have great products.
Work harder than your competitor and you'll make it.

Synthes has roughly 54% market share nationwide. Exactly what kind of "push" is Zimmer planning? It better involve some serious payouts to influential surgeons...wait, oh yeah, those are illegal now. Well...good luck Zimmer.

One thing you do notice is that everyone know's the Zimmer name. Name recognition like Synthes, Stryker, and Zimmer are great things to have. I do know Zimmer has some things coming soon, NO I do not work for Zimmer. However, I do work for a company that manufactures product for a wide variety of customers including Zimmer and Stryker.
The best advice any one can give is if you work for any of these companies, and they are all good companies, is work hard and smart and you should be successful.
If you can land a position with Stryker, Synthes, Zimmer, or an entity of their caliber it should be a worthwhile venture.
