CoolTouch Inc. Introduces New SaphFire(TM) 2.5F Fiber
First Laser Fiber Designed Exclusively For Endovenous Laser Ablation.ROSEVILLE, Calif., May 16 (HSMN NewsFeed) -- CoolTouch Inc., a leading manufacturer of medical lasers since 1994, announced today the introduction of the CoolTouch SaphFire(TM) 2.5F fiber, the first and only fiber specifically designed for endovenous laser ablation. The SaphFire 2.5F is a proprietary, handcrafted, patent-pending, single-use fiber that is only available for use with the CoolTouch CTEV(TM) 1320(TM) Nd:YAG endovenous laser system for varicose vein treatment.

The SaphFire's unparalleled construction is its hallmark. Due to its unique, smooth protected tip, it effortlessly glides through the vein virtually eliminating the possibility of snagging on the vein wall. Its 2.5F diameter allows for the use of a smaller and less invasive 4F micro introducer for vein access, saving the physician valuable time by minimizing sheath exchanges and reducing tissue trauma, resulting in a more comfortable patient experience. Endovenous expert Robert A. Weiss, MD, Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, reports, "The CoolTouch SaphFire saves me 10-15 minutes per procedure and can be done with a tiny micro-access puncture, making it a more elegant and quick procedure."
The SaphFire's one-of-a kind characteristics increase performance, handling and flexibility, allowing access and treatment of more tortuous or difficult veins or veins unsuccessfully treated with other modalities. The SaphFire enables physicians to treat patients who would otherwise be considered 'untreatable by endovenous laser.' According to Aaron F. The SaphFire 2.5F fiber will be available for shipment beginning May 22, 2006.
