Daxor Announces Palmetto Health Baptist Columbia of Columbia, SC Purchases Blood Volume Analyzer BVA-100

NEW YORK--(HSMN NewsFeed)--May 26, 2006--Daxor Corporation (AMEX:DXR ), a medical instrumentation and biotechnology company, today announced the receipt of a signed purchase contract from the Palmetto Health Baptist Columbia of Columbia, South Carolina.

Palmetto Health Baptist Columbia operates at a capacity of 489 acute care beds with some 2,800 full- and part-time employees, nearly 800 physicians and 500 volunteers. Palmetto Baptist Columbia is regarded as one of the best equipped and up-to-date hospitals in the Southeast.

For nine consecutive years Palmetto Health Baptist has won the Consumer Choice Award, serving more than 225,000 patients each year from across South Carolina and beyond. Palmetto Health Baptist provides a wide range of primary and specialty health care services, from caring for the smallest and most ill infants in two Level 3 neonatal intensive care units to specialized geriatric programs.

Daxor's Blood Volume Analyzer BVA-100 will be located within Palmetto Baptist Hospital's Nuclear Medicine Department. Kathy Knight, Imaging Manager for Nuclear Medicine and PET, commented that, "We are very excited to be installing Daxor's Blood Volume Analyzer BVA-100. Not only is the BVA-100 a modernization of a tried and true test, but it will give us the opportunity to increase physician referral business without increasing our current work load of our nuclear medicine technologists." Palmetto Health Baptist Columbia decided to purchase the BVA-100 without a trial period based on recently published research results on the benefits of blood volume measurements in the treatment of patients with blood volume derangements.

Other leading medical institutions that have purchased the Blood Volume Analyzer BVA-100 include Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, NYU University Medical Center and Queens Medical Center.

Daxor Corporation manufactures and markets the BVA-100, a semi-automated Blood Volume Analyzer. The BVA-100 is used in conjunction with a single use diagnostic kit.
