ViaCell Appoints Kirk Williamson as Vice President of Marketing
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--ViaCell, Inc. (Nasdaq: VIAC ) today announced that Kirk T. Williamson joined the Company as Vice President of Marketing. Mr. Williamson will have overall responsibility for marketing initiatives related to ViaCell's reproductive health business, including ongoing marketing efforts for ViaCord®, a product offering for the preservation of stem cells from umbilical cord blood, and potential new product opportunities."Kirk is an accomplished executive with extensive expertise in management and marketing. His experiences from leading healthcare and consumer focused companies including Bristol-Myers Squibb and Gillette will be of significant value and we are extremely pleased to welcome him to ViaCell," said Mr. Jim Corbett, President, ViaCell Reproductive Health.
Mr. Williamson joins ViaCell from The Gillette Company where he served as Vice President and General Manager for the Oral-B Professional Products Group. In this role he led a $100 million, 130-member North American professional sales and marketing team with responsibility for all marketing, sales, business development, professional affairs, trade planning and promotion initiatives. Previously, he was Director of Consumer Marketing at Bristol-Myers Squibb where he directed the creation and execution of consumer marketing strategies and programs. Mr. Williamson also held a variety of sales and marketing positions at Frito-Lay, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Bucknell University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
