US Spine Announces Successful Completion of the 1st Implantation of the Preference(TM) 2 Spine System in the U.S.
BOCA RATON, Fla.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--US Spine has announced the completion of the first surgeries using its new Preference(TM) 2 Spine System, featuring Helical Flange Technology. Dr. Christo Koulisis and Dr. Scott Webb are the first surgeons to use the system clinically, and both commented on the system's ease of use and high level of refinement. "This is a great system, and I would recommend this to any surgeon using pedicle screws as a treatment option," stated Dr. Koulisis. The Preference 2 Spine System represents the first full evolution of US Spine's original pedicle screw, Preference. Released in January of 2005, Preference entered the market as one of the lowest-profile polyaxial pedicle screws available, and has quickly been adopted by spine surgeons as a confident system with straightforward instrumentation.
The upgrade to Preference 2 marks the debut of Helical Flange technology into the low-profile system, giving it unsurpassed strength and rigidity, without the risk of tulip-splay or cross threading. Helical Flange is a technology developed by Dr. Roger Jackson, which Interlocks the tulip and the rod blocker, containing any spreading forces that threaten to compromise the interconnect between polyaxial screws and rods. "We are committed to offering our surgeons the best products to treat spinal disorders. We really feel that we've achieved that with Preference 2," said Doris Blake, Founder and President of US Spine.
