James M. Shannon to Join Osteotech Board of Directors
EATONTOWN, N.J., April 11 (HSMN NewsFeed) -- Osteotech, Inc. (Nasdaq: OSTE ) today announced the appointment of Mr. James M. Shannon to its Board of Directors. Mr. Shannon joined the Board of Directors effective March 29, 2007 and will serve on the Audit Committee and the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee of the Board of Directors.Kenneth P. Fallon, III, Osteotech's Chairman of the Board of Directors, stated, "We are pleased Mr. Shannon is joining Osteotech's Board. Jim's experience and expertise will assist the Board of Directors in broadening its business and operating base to support the Company's achievement of its long- term growth objectives."
Mr. Shannon is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Fire Protection Association ("NFPA"), an international organization which is the world's leading advocate for fire prevention, providing and developing codes and standards, research, training and education. Mr. Shannon was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of the NFPA from 1991 to mid- 2002. Formerly, Mr. Shannon was the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 1987 to 1991 and a Senior Partner at the law firm of Hale & Dorr from 1985 to 1987. From 1979 to 1985, Mr. Shannon represented the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Unites States House of Representatives, where he served as a member of the Ways and Means Committee for six years and served on the Trade, Health and Social Security Subcommittees. Mr. Shannon is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and received his J.D. from George Washington University School of Law.
