Hi-Tech Pharmacal's Founder and Chairman Emeritus, Bernard Seltzer Dies at Age 83
AMITYVILLE, N.Y.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Hi-Tech Pharmacal Co., Inc. (NASDAQ:HITK ) announced today that Bernard Seltzer, the Company's Chairman Emeritus died on May 21st at the age of 83. Mr. Seltzer founded Hi-Tech Pharmacal in 1981 with a small handful of employees, and helped to grow the Company to approximately 250 employees with $78 million in sales in fiscal 2006. Mr. Seltzer served as Hi-Tech's President and CEO until May 1998, as Chairman of the Board of Directors until 2005, and as Chairman Emeritus from 2005 until the present.Hi-Tech is a specialty pharmaceutical company developing, manufacturing and marketing branded and generic prescription and OTC products for the general healthcare industry. The Company specializes in difficult to manufacture liquid and semi-solid dosage forms and produces a range of sterile ophthalmic, otic and Inhalation products. The Company's Health Care Products Division is a leading developer and marketer of branded prescription and OTC products for the diabetes marketplace.
