Quinnova Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Launches Hydro 40(TM) Foam
NEWTOWN, Pa.--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Quinnova Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced today the commercial launch of Hydro 40(TM) Foam. Containing 40 percent urea in a water-lipid based foam (utilizing the patented Proderm Technology(TM)), Hydro 40 Foam provides physicians and patients with a cosmetically elegant alternative to the greasy and irritating preparations used in traditional urea therapy for the treatment of xerosis and hyperkeratotic conditions of the skin.Hydro 40 Foam's unique chemical structure is believed to facilitate enhanced penetration of active drug ingredients into the skin with a cosmetically-elegant, non-greasy feel. Moreover, the foam can deliver humectants used to maintain epidermal moisture levels, and lipids needed to reduce long term trans-epidermal moisture loss, thereby helping to restore the natural skin barrier function.
Studies demonstrate outstanding efficacy and patient satisfaction. A recent study focusing on the mechanism of action, penetration of the foam ingredients and its ability to repair the natural skin barrier has been completed and the results will be presented at an upcoming dermatology conference.
