NEC Display Solutions Offers New MultiSync 5-Megapixel Grayscale Display for Medical Professionals
NEC MD21GS-5MP Features Super Advanced In-Plane Switching LCD Technology, Specifically Designed for Demanding Applications like Mammography and RadiologyCHICAGO--(HSMN NewsFeed)--NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading stand-alone provider of commercial and residential LCD, plasma, and projector displays, announced today availability of the MultiSync MD21GS-5MP flat-panel monitor, specifically for medical imaging applications, including mammography and PACS (picture archiving and communication system).
The grayscale display can be seen at NEC Display Booth No. 2976 at the Radiological Society of North America’s (RSNA’s) Annual Meeting and Conference today through November 30 at MCCormick Place in Chicago.
With a 2560 x 2048 native resolution, NEC’s 5-MP display includes in-plane switching (IPS) LCD module technology, offering powerful details of medical images and a possible 3,061 shades of gray. It also includes a backlight sensor and DICOM calibration, as well as a 30-ms response time and a contrast ratio of 600:1. The display’s pivoting stand allows for use in landscape or portrait orientation.
The NEC MD21GS-5MP monitor is part of the MultiSync MD Series, a family of medical-grade LCDs designed exclusively for the demanding needs of the diagnostic professional.

In addition, GammaCompMD software, supplied with the MD monitor system, supports different sensors for calibration. These include both external colorimeters for direct measurement at the surface and spot luminance meters for distance measurement.
The display also is RoHS (Restriction on Hazardous Substances) compliant, containing fully disposable plastics and minimal amounts of hazardous materials such as lead, hex-chrome, cadmium, mercury, PBDE and PBB.
The NEC MD21GS-5MP display is pending FDA510K January approval and is available for shipment with an estimated street price of $9,999.99, and comes with one of the best standard warranties in the industry: a three-year limited warranty with Advanced Overnight Exchange service.
