Calistoga Pharmaceuticals Announces Appointment of Clifford J. Stocks as Chief Business Officer
SEATTLE--(HSMN NewsFeed)--Calistoga Pharmaceuticals, Inc., the leader in the development of isoform-selective PI3 kinase inhibitors for the treatment of cancer and inflammatory diseases, today announced the appointment of Clifford J. Stocks as Chief Business Officer.Mr. Stocks brings substantial experience and expertise to lead Calistoga Pharmaceuticals’ business and corporate development strategy, and business practices. He will be responsible for corporate/business development, finance, and legal. His addition to the management team is an important milestone as the Company accelerates engagement of potential partners with interest in treatments for oncology and inflammatory diseases.
Mr. Stocks brings to Calistoga Pharmaceuticals more than two decades of experience in the biotech industry, including 15 years at ICOS Corporation, where he served as an Executive Officer and Vice President of Business Development. While at ICOS, he led acquisitions and joint venture activities as well as alliance formation, strategy, licensing and deal making. He played an instrumental role on the leadership team that developed and launched Cialis®, and was a key architect of the Lilly ICOS joint venture partnership leading to their $2.3 billion merger in 2007. Previously, he was a management consultant in the Health Services practice of Booz, Allen & Hamilton.

Mr. Stocks also serves on the Board of Sinova Pharmaceuticals Inc., a biotech startup in Shanghai, China. His career includes academic research in the department of immunology at the University of Utah and the department of molecular genetics and cell biology at the University of Chicago. Cliff received an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and a B.S. degree in biology from the University of Utah.
