Minimus Spine(TM) Receives Notice of Allowance for Pre-Sterilized Vial to Create Ozone for Medical Application

(www.minimusspine.com) announced today that it has received a Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (Application 11/527,414), adding a third patent to its growing intellectual property portfolio.“This patent protects our initial concept for providing a pre-sterilized vial that interfaces with a console to create ozone gas, which can be used as part of a non-surgical treatment for disc herniations. The evidence supporting intradiscal ozone injection continues to mount and we believe that our approach to standardizing the treatment and creating ozone in a sterile container is necessary for this technology to become more widely adopted," said David Hooper, Ph.D., Minimus Spine's Founder and CEO.
Minimus Spine’s Triojection™ system addresses a large void when it comes to the treatment of patients with painful disc herniations. It is widely known that epidural steroid injections are only marginally effective and that most, if not all, patients would prefer to avoid spine surgery. This technology will provide a non-surgical alternative and reduce the cost of care, both important factors in the future of healthcare.
